Terroir

The vineyard has south exposure and as a result attracts a high degree of sunlight. The effective temperature sums (Winkler index: WIN 1591,3) designates this viticulture area as region II (similar to Bordeaux, France). This indicates that best results are achieved by international varieties which are planted in our vineyards (Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Merlot and Malbec).

The viticulture area has a humid climate (drought index: DI 181,8), meaning there is no danger of drought and there is a pronounced water supply balance with precipitation distributed evenly throughout the months. The cool night index (CI 11) is evidenced by very cold nights (CI+2). When coupled with high daily temperatures in the second half of August and early September (30+ Celsius), this provides favorable conditions for high sugar content along with a pronounced wine aromas and color.
