This wine is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Sauvignon Blanc has herbal characteristics of freshly cut grass dominated by tastes ranging from green apples to tomato leaves. In this 70:30 blend with Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon brings a full body to an otherwise aromatic Sauvignon Blanc. A well balanced wine that emphasizes acidity as a means to achieve a full and well-rounded palate.
The terroir of the village of Lipovac near Topola, renowned for its Venčac marble, has enriched this wine with mineral features which are highly desirable but rare for this style of wine. Only 5,000 bottles of the 2016 vintage were produced.
“100 Jazz” is 100% gewürztraminer and is easily recognizable by its exotic and spicy but smooth and soft aromas. By utilizing the cooling effect of the nearby mountain of Venčac and by picking early, we preserve this wine’s natural acidity. The aromas of flowers, lime and green ginger are immediately present and are followed by lavender scent on the finish. This wine has a complex body structure however remains well balanced. Given its complexity, it ages well and preserves its original aromas for years after bottling.
Only 1,500 bottles of the 2016 vintage were produced.
Currently aging in the 100% new oak, this wine is a blend of two well-known international varieties: Merlot and Malbec. The name “1903” pays tribute to our ancestors who founded the Venčac Vineyard Cooperative in 1903 and reflects on the legacy we inherit.
“1903” will be available no earlier than 2018.
